    Default Goodreads, LibraryThing, etc

Is anyone a member of Goodreads or LibraryThing?

I've been on Goodreads for awhile now. I mostly use it to find books, get series lists, read reviews and keep track of books I've read. They allow you to add books and add tags to categorize your shelf. They also have some groups I'm part of for historical romances, etc. I prefer it to LibraryThing. I used to have my stuff on there, but switched.

I've also found it helpful to discover to find books, if I don't know the author or title (or only part of the title). I'll just go into Google and search what I know with "goodreads" added to the phrase/title/etc I'm searching. Nearly everytime I'll turn up the book or series I'm looking for. (So example, I'd search - blood moon goodreads and see two possible books, one of which may be the one I'm looking for).

I prefer goodreads as well. I think it is the most useful of these kinds of sites.

I have been a member of LibraryThing for quite a while, very useful for followiing up series & other titles by an author - will give Goodreads a go.

I use Shelfari also. Nice and easy to use and not likely to shut down suddenly like the last one I used did! grr

I recently discovered Goodreads and have been sucked in since...and now I hear there's two other similar things? Shelfari and LibraryThing? Holy moly...anyone else prefer one or the other? I really like Goodreads because it's so interactive, plus the lists are amazing.

I absolutely love Goodreads. I discovered it through one of my favorite authors who talked about it on her blog. One of my favorite features on it is becoming a fan of authors and comparing the books they've read to yours. I don't know why, but it makes me happy when I see that I've read the same books as my favorite author, lol. I like reading the user reviews there better than at places like Amazon. It's nice that Goodreads collapses a review that has a spoiler in it. I don't know how many timess I've ruined a book because an Amazon user didn't mention that their review would contain spoilers.

Anyways though, it's the only book database I've used so I don't know what the others compared.

I joined goodreads last month, and it's started a whole book search I've been doing since. I've found lots of great authors and series through there so far. Plus I like looking at reviews and discussing books through the groups. I haven't heard of the other sites, but I'll check them out. I'll most likely stick to goodreads to keep track of everything.
